Slot Machines and T-Slot Tables

A slot is an opening or groove in something. For example, letters go through mail slots at post offices and postcards are inserted into slots on bulletin boards. There are many different types of slots. Some are wide, while others are very narrow. A slot is also an area where a machine can be programmed to pay out winning combinations of symbols. The pay table is listed on the machine or can be accessed by pressing a button that says “Pay Table” or something similar.

T-slot tables provide an extended work area on universal testing machines for securing components or structures that can’t be held with standard grips. Commercially available T-slot nuts are slid into inverted T-slots on the table and bolted in place. This system is especially useful for securing specimens that might be ejected from the test space during an impact test.

Whether or not slots are your game of choice depends on your personality and your preferences. For some people, the appeal of simplicity and the potential for big prizes is more than enough to draw them in. For others, the need for social interaction and a certain level of control over their destiny is more important.
